Privacy Policy

The short version

• No accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking scripts.
• We do not sell your data and we do not build profiles of visitors.
• The tools in the AI connector only need a brand, product or place name. Please do not send us anything else.

Who we are

This website

• Hosting logs. Our pages are delivered by Cloudflare. Like any host, it receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy policy.
• No cookies or trackers. We do not set cookies and we do not run analytics or advertising scripts.
• Saved on your device only. If you pick causes on the home page, the picks are stored in your browser (localStorage). They are never sent to us, and you can clear them in your browser settings.
• Search and filter boxes. What you type, such as a brand name, is used to answer that request.
• Maps. The Dollar Flow Map loads a map library from unpkg.com, so that service sees your IP address when the page loads.
• Location. We never ask your device for its location. A place or coordinates are used only if you type them in, and only to answer that request.
• Other sites. Our pages link to sources and to other sites. Some links are affiliate links, listed on our Disclosures page. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and clicking an affiliate link may let them set their own cookies.

Community tips and comments

When the community tip line and discussion rooms are open, what you submit is stored: the business name, place and notes in a tip, or the name, location and text you enter in a comment. Submissions are held for review before anything is shown, and tips are not shown publicly. Do not include anything you want to keep private. To have a submission removed, email us the details.

The AI connector (Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants)

The Shoptegrity connector lets an AI assistant look up ownership, integrity and local-alternative information from this site.

• What we receive. Only what the assistant sends for a tool call: a brand, retailer, product or seller name, a result count, and, for local searches, coordinates, a category and a radius. We do not receive your conversation, your account, or your assistant's memory or files.
• What we ask you not to send. The tools do not need personal names, contact details, payment card numbers, government IDs, health information, passwords or keys. Please keep them out of your requests.
• What we do with it. We use it to return an answer. The connector does not write what you ask to our database, and it does not require an account.
• Hosting logs. The service that hosts the connector records ordinary connection details, such as IP address and time, to run and secure it.
• Product searches. When a tool searches for independent sellers of a product, the product text you give is sent to Shopify's catalog service to get results. Shopify handles it under its own privacy policy.
• Your assistant's provider. The company that runs your assistant has its own privacy practices for your conversation. This policy covers only the Shoptegrity side.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent personal data.
• We do not show advertising or use data for advertising.
• We do not track you across sites or build profiles of visitors.

Children

Shoptegrity is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold from a community submission, ask us to correct or remove it, or ask any privacy question by emailing [email protected].

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. If a change affects what we collect, we will say so on this page before it takes effect.
